$32.95

The Cling On short handle brush is a compact, handmade brush built for comfort and control with Milk Paint and other water-based coatings. Its short handle fits naturally in the palm, and shed-resistant synthetic filaments deliver a smooth finish on furniture and trim. Learn more about the different sizes below.

More About Cling On Short Handle Brushes

Short handle brushes are a go-to for many furniture painters, and the Cling On version shows why. The compact handle sits comfortably in the palm and gives you precise control over every stroke. It also lets you work in tight spaces where a long handle would get in the way.

Like every Cling On brush, it is handmade in Holland with premium synthetic filaments set in a stainless-steel ferrule. Epoxy cement locks the filaments in place so they resist shedding. A beech wood handle keeps the weight low and the grip secure.

These brushes are made for waterborne products such as milk paint and water-based topcoats. They are designed to be used and stored wet, which helps the filaments absorb water instead of paint. That feature contributes to a brush-stroke-free finish and keeps paint from drying in the brush. The compact profile also suits painters who prefer a close grip for cutting in.

Here at Eco Building Products, we offer the Cling On short handle brush in three distinct sizes.

  • S-30 Short Handle, 1-1/4". The semi-oval shape and narrow width give you control on chair parts and small cabinet doors. It is a good fit for first-time users who want a brush that feels easy to handle.
  • S-50 Short Handle, 2-1/4". This wider brush covers more surface with every stroke. Choose it for dressers and tabletops when you still want the comfort of the short handle. Painters who like the compact feel on larger pieces tend to favor it.
  • SA-50 Angled Short Handle, 2-1/4". It shares the S-50 width and adds an angled cut. The angle helps you cut in cleanly along trim and edges. It also reaches into corners and recessed panels with ease.

A few habits keep these brushes in top shape. Wet the brush before you paint and keep it damp between coats. Leave the protective strings on, avoid wrapping the brush in plastic, and rest it in a jar of water below the ferrule without letting the tips sit on the bottom.
