Product Overview

This advanced, low-odor, waterproof, and vapor-proof sealer is engineered for long-lasting protection in both interior and exterior environments. It cures into a flexible, highly durable membrane that resists moisture, temperature shifts, and chemical exposure—making it ideal for applications where safety, longevity, and environmental protection are priorities.

Key Features

  • All-weather durability: Performs reliably in extreme hot or cold temperatures without cracking or peeling.
  • Low odor and non-toxic once cured: Safe for use in sensitive areas, including around food-producing gardens.
  • Highly flexible coating: Maintains elasticity over time, adapting to natural movement and expansion of wood or concrete.
  • Superior chemical resistance: Protects against water, oil, gasoline, grease, acids, alkalines, and fungi.
  • Vapor and waterproof barrier: Blocks both liquid water and vapor, preventing moisture intrusion and rot.
  • Flame and heat resistant: Meets high fire-resistance standards for safer use in varied environments.
  • Adhesion compatibility: Bonds well with most mortar-type adhesives and construction substrates.

Benefits

  • Eco-friendly containment: When fully cured, the coating forms a stable, inert barrier that prevents any chemical leaching into fertile garden soils—preserving the purity of edible crops.
  • Enhanced wood protection: Seals the interior of wooden raised beds to keep moisture from rotting boards and to extend their useful life.
  • Simplified maintenance: Eliminates the need for frequent resealing or liner replacement.
  • Multi-surface versatility: Equally effective on wood, concrete, masonry, or metal—ideal for both ornamental and edible raised garden bed designs.
  • Long-lasting investment: Provides years of worry-free service even in demanding outdoor conditions.

Advantages for Garden Bed Applications

  • Non-toxic growing environment: The cured surface creates a safe, food-grade seal that prevents harmful compounds from reaching plant roots.
  • Moisture control: Stops soil moisture from wicking into wooden frames, preventing swelling or decay.
  • Temperature adaptability: Maintains a tight seal despite freeze–thaw cycles common in outdoor planters.
  • Aesthetic and structural longevity: Keeps raised bed interiors clean, intact, and resistant to microbial degradation.

Performance in Use

Applied to the inside of raised garden beds, this sealer performs exceptionally well—forming an impermeable yet flexible membrane that locks out water, resists soil acids, and prevents nutrient contamination. It is particularly suited for organic and sustainable gardens where toxin-free cultivation is essential.

AFM Safecoat Dynoseal Roof Sealant is a sophisticated low-odor, all-weather, waterproof, vapor-proof coating, and sealer remains flexible for years. This all around sealer can be used on roofs as well as below grade foundations and even raised bed gardens. It is highly resistant to flame spread and temperature change, and when cured is also highly resistant to gasoline, oil, grease, fungi, acids, and alkalines.

USE ON:

Seamless roofs and as a deck coating and underlayment for shower stalls, pools, tubs and saunas. It is recommended for use in repairing roofs, flashing, shingles, metal seams, and as a vapor barrier against moisture from below-grade foundations and raised bed gardens.

LIMITATIONS:

Safecoat sealers are made without formaldehyde preservatives. Do not contaminate. Store in airtight containers. Do not use in temperatures below 55 degrees F. Do not freeze. Thick application, high humidity, or conditions other than normal will cause Safecoat to dry and cure more slowly.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Clean surfaces of dirt, grease, mildew, and oil. The surface should be completely dry before application.

APPLICATION:

Before application stir Safecoat DynoSeal, then apply with a brush or 3/8” roller. Roof and deck coating: 2 coats. Below grade application: 4 coats.

Safecoat DynoSeal is not meant to be exposed to the elements for extended periods of time. It should be top-coated with Safecoat RoofGuard. Note: these instructions are intended to be general only and not exhaustive. The applicator should determine which preparation and techniques are best suited to the specific surface.

CLEAN-UP:

Clean tools and equipment with a warm soapy water solution.

DRYING/CURING TIME:

Re-coatable after 2 hours in normal conditions. Normal conditions include a dry surface, access to fresh air flow, moderate humidity, and temperatures above 55 degrees F. The temperature should remain above 45 degrees F for two days to allow full curing. Surface remains tacky to the touch after drying.

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS:

As with all natural sealers and coatings, keep the container tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not take it internally. Keep from freezing. Always use adequate ventilation.
