The 2-inch chip brush is the workhorse of a Milk Paint kit. Its full natural bristles are extra thick, so the brush holds plenty of paint and lays down smooth, even coverage. The sturdy build also feels comfortable in the hand and gives you steady control through a long painting session.

Milk Paint is thin and water-based, which pairs well with natural bristles. Thin coats work best, since heavy layers tend to crack and flake. If you want an even smoother surface, you can follow up with a foam brush or a light sanding once the paint dries.

We also reach for this brush when applying our Oil Waxes and Tung Oils. Keeping a separate brush for each product helps prevent cross-contamination, especially between clear and dark finishes. At this price, a few brushes cost very little.
