Splash is the newest structure in Forbo's Marbled family, and it's one of the most playful. Where the older marbled designs interpret stone and mineral formations, Splash takes the shape of a moment of motion frozen in place. It visually proximal effect that makes it a natural fit for spaces where people sit, kneel, or spend long stretches of time on the floor, like nurseries, pediatric wards, classrooms, libraries, and family kitchens.

The Splash range is deliberately small. Six colorways, no filler: Seashell, Bluemoon, Salsa Verde, Limoncello, Fruit Punch, and Rockpool. Every one of them shares the same light, neutral grey base, so the difference between them lies entirely in which colors surface through it. Seashell scatters soft pinks, blues, and yellows across a warm grey-white, evoking a sunlit beach after the tide has gone out. Limoncello and Fruit Punch push brighter and warmer. Rockpool and Bluemoon lean cooler and calmer. Because the base tone stays consistent across all six, you can shift from one Splash color to another across a threshold without the transition feeling abrupt.
A Splash of Character Among the Marmoleum Marbled Collection
Marmoleum Marbled holds the largest color bank in resilient flooring, spanning more than 90 shades across five structures: Real, Fresco, Vivace, Terra, and Splash. All five are designed to be intermixed, but combining a heavily marbled field. Forbo positions Marmoleum Splash as a connector between the more classic marbled visuals and the plain uni-patterned ones, since its grey field speaks to the solids while its hidden color speaks to the marbles. Used as a transitional band or connecting corridor, Splash helps an ambitious multi-patterned floor plan hold together. It also performs perfectly well as a standalone floor if that's all you need.

Splash carries third-party credentials that hold up under specification review. It's USDA Certified with 100% bio-based content and is naturally free of phthalates and plasticizers, contributing toward LEED credits with a documented 30-year system service life. In European markets, it holds both the Blue Angel ecolabel and natureplus certification, two of the more demanding building-product standards in circulation.
The fire performance of Marmoleum Splash is rated Cfl-s1. Add Allergy UK approval, independently verified bacteriostatic behavior, and total VOC emissions well below European thresholds, and you have a floor that satisfies healthcare and education specifications without requiring exceptions or workarounds.
Sustainably Natural Linoleum & Climate Positive
Splash follows the same recipe Forbo has used since acquiring the linoleum craft: oxidized linseed oil and pine rosin binding wood flour, limestone, and natural pigments onto a woven jute backing, reaching up to 98% natural raw materials. Absent from that list are PVC, phthalates, plasticizers, and mineral oil. The sheet is manufactured with 36% recycled content on 100% renewable electricity, and a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of -0.67 kg CO2e/m², meaning the plants supplying the raw materials sequester more CO2 during growth than the entire production chain emits. Its homogeneous, full-body construction conducts heat efficiently, which makes it compatible with radiant underfloor heating systems.
Specification Details and Everyday Care
Standard Splash sheet is 2.5 mm thick, supplied in rolls up to 2 meters wide and 33 meters long. All six colors can be produced in a 3.5 mm Marmoleum Decibel construction delivering 18 dB of impact sound reduction, subject to minimum order quantity and lead time, which matters for apartments, upper floors, and stacked classrooms. Seams can be heat-welded with a matched rod for a watertight, hygienic finish suitable for kitchens and bathrooms. The Topshield finish arrives factory-applied and UV-cured, so no site sealing, waxing, or stripping is ever needed. Routine care means dust mopping plus a damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner between 7.0 and 8.5. Keep ammonia, high-alkaline products, and abrasive powders away from the surface, and treat spills immediately with water and a neutral detergent.
