Rubio Monocoat Universal Maintenance Oil effectively enhances sheen while nourishing finished wood. If color restoration and sheen enhancement are not required, Renew may be used.

Universal Maintenance Oil is used to increase the sheen (approx. satin) and nourish wood finished with Rubio Monocoat Oil, giving it a fuller look. It can also be used to convert floors with other oils to a Rubio Monocoat floor.

Once Universal Maintenance Oil has been applied to a surface, future maintenance must be performed using Universal Maintenance Oil.

If color restoration is required, perform a renovation using Oil Plus 2C in the original color.

Application

Furniture, Stairs, and Worktops

1. Clean the surface using Rubio Monocoat Surface Care Spray.

2. Let the surface dry for approximately 15 minutes. TIP: Do not leave water on the surface; it is sufficient to clean damp. Avoid walking on the floor until it is completely dry.

3. Take the Universal Maintenance Oil and stir thoroughly until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.

4. Apply a small amount of oil with a brush, then spread it out using a white or red pad. Work in areas of 20 to 40 ft², which can be finished within approximately 15 minutes, including the next step.

5. Allow the oil to absorb for a few minutes, then wipe away any excess oil with a cloth or a white pad. Each treated area should be wiped dry within 15 minutes and should not feel sticky anymore.

Flooring

1. Clean the surface using Rubio Monocoat Soap or Rubio Monocoat Surface Care Spray.

2. Allow the floor to dry for approximately 15 minutes. Do not walk on the floor until it is completely dry.

3. Take the Universal Maintenance Oil and stir thoroughly until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.

4. Work in areas of 50 to 100 ft². Start by treating the edges of each area with a white or red pad. Then, apply a small amount of Universal Maintenance Oil every couple of feet with a brush. Spread the oil in the direction of the wood using a buffer with a white or red pad.

5. Wipe away any excess oil with a cloth or a buffer with a white pad.

6. After finishing all the areas, go over them again with a new white pad. The surface should not feel sticky anymore.

Rubio Monocoat Universal Maintenance Oil is a 0% VOC natural oil blend designed to refresh and protect wood surfaces treated with Rubio Monocoat oil. It adds a soft satin gloss and enhances liquid resistance, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as offices, restaurants, and hotels.

Yes, the Universal Maintenance Oil can also be used to upgrade and protect wood surfaces not previously treated with Rubio Monocoat products.

The oil is available in 'Pure', 'White', and 'Black' to complement a range of wood finishes and color preferences.

One 0.5 liter container of Universal Maintenance Oil covers approximately 75–100 m² depending on wood type and surface texture.

The oil dries in 6–8 hours and reaches full cure in 48 hours. Cleaning with water is recommended after 48 hours, and Universal Soap after 7 days.

Clean the floor with Rubio Monocoat Universal Soap, rinse with water, and allow to dry. Then apply the oil in sections of 5–10 m² using a red or beige pad and wipe excess with a white pad. Ensure no sticky residue remains.

Clean with Rubio Monocoat Surface Care, let dry, and apply the oil with a brush. Spread using a scrubby pad or hand sander and wipe off excess within 15 minutes.

Apply the product at temperatures between 8°C and 30°C and in a humidity range of 40–60%. Ensure proper ventilation during application.

Used cloths or pads saturated with oil may spontaneously combust. Always soak used materials in water before disposal and avoid dilution of the product.
