L10, EL7 & EL5

The L10, EL7, and EL5 are all portable, propane-fired tankless water heaters, but they differ notably in hot water capacity, BTU output, design features, and best-use scenarios. The L10 is the most powerful and best suited for higher-demand or multi-user setups, while the EL7 balances modern styling and dual-use capacity, and the EL5 is optimized for single-point, lightweight portability.

Key performance differences

·         The L10 delivers up to 3.0 GPM and as much as 75,000 BTUs, making it the highest-capacity option for more demanding outdoor tasks or multiple consecutive showers.

·         The EL7 provides 1.85 GPM and 52,500 BTUs, enough to support two points of use at once, such as a shower plus hand-washing.

·         The EL5 is rated at 1.5 GPM with 37,500 BTUs, ideal for a single shower or one point of use at a time.

Design and feature differences

·         EL7 and EL5 share a modern tri-coat pearl white finish, tri-layer powder coat, extreme all‑weather rain cap, and digital LED temperature, power, and pressure displays, emphasizing durability and user feedback.

·         The L10 uses a more traditional body style without the Luxe aesthetic upgrades or digital temperature display, though it remains compact and lightweight for portable use.

·         EL7 adds inset flame and temperature knobs and a slightly larger, heavier steel case than EL5, reflecting its higher output and dual-use capability.

Power, ignition, and safety

·         All three fire on 20 lb liquid propane and activate at around 20 PSI, connecting easily to a standard garden hose.

·         EL7 and EL5 use 4 AA batteries for electronic ignition, while the L10 uses two D‑cell batteries, aligning with its higher BTU demand.

·         Each model includes tilt-safety shutoff at about 45 degrees and over-temperature protections, with EL-series units also highlighting advanced sensor-based scald protection.
