Sealin' Hatch Insulated Knee-Wall Door for Attic Access

The Sealin' Hatch Knee-Wall Attic Access Door comes completely assembled. This insulated attic access panel system is designed to save builders and homeowners time, energy, and money when building or remodeling. The Knee-Wall Attic Access Door is designed for easy, occasional through-the-wall attic access.

The Sealin' Hatch Insulated Knee-Wall Door installs into a rectangular opening in your attic knee-wall, between and mounted to wall studs. Pre-built out of the box, just insert it into the properly sized opening and screw through the trim and drywall into the studs.

To enter the attic, remove the screws and the insulated panel. After exiting the attic, slide the insulated panel back into the opening and re-insert the screws.  This design is a cost-effective solution for occasional/maintenance access to your attic, rather than frequent access.

The Knee-Wall  Door is a one-piece product intended for periodic, infrequent access - specifically for access for maintenance and inspections. Four screws are included for fastening it to the wall studs between which it is inserted. To gain access, the screws are removed and then refastened afterward. (On the other hand, the ceiling hatch is a two-piece product with gravity providing the closure, and thus lends itself to more frequent access.)

A knee wall is the short vertical wall in finished attics, Cape Cod-style houses, and bonus rooms that separates conditioned living space from the unconditioned attic area behind the wall.
