Wire Whisk – Milk Paint Mixing Tool

$4.40

These 7-inch mini wire whisks are perfect for mixing Milk Paint into a smooth, creamy consistency without lumps or excess froth. Their compact size fits easily into a mixing cup and they are easy to clean and reuse.

About The Wire Whisk Milk Paint Mixing Tool

At 7 inches long, these whisks are compact enough to fit easily into a mixing cup while still providing plenty of room to stir. Simply wash after use, and they’ll be ready for many more Milk Paint projects.

Milk Paint arrives as a powder, and dissolving that powder fully is the most important step in the process. A wire whisk makes it quick. The fine wires break up clumps and cut through pigment streaks so the paint flows from the brush like table cream.

This mini whisk measures about 7 inches long, which suits the small cups and jars you will use for mixing. It reaches the bottom and corners of a container where powder tends to settle. It is also included in our Milk Paint bundles.

Mixing in Four Steps

  1. Add water to your container first, using equal parts water and powder.
  2. Add the powder and whisk right away to avoid a clumpy mess at the bottom.
  3. Stir for a minute or so, then let the paint rest for about 10 minutes so the pigments dissolve.
  4. Whisk again before you paint, and re-stir every couple of minutes as you work.

Mix only the amount you need for your session. Your paint should have no lumps or pigment streaks. If it feels too thick, slowly whisk in a little water. If it looks watery, add more powder and keep mixing.

When you add Extra Bond, mix the Milk Paint first according to the directions. Then stir in the Extra Bond and whisk again until it is fully blended.
