A deep‑penetrating, ultra‑low VOC exterior hybrid‑oil stain designed for long‑lasting wood protection—ideal for projects excluding decks and stairs.

A pre‑treatment that stabilizes wood, reduces water marks, protects against tannin bleed, and ensures uniform topcoat adhesion.

Both are produced by Vermont Natural Coatings in partnership with Böhme, leveraging over 150 years of Swiss formulation expertise.

They are ultra‑low VOC (≤30 g/L), water-based, and non-toxic—safe for people, pets, and the environment.

Ideal for exterior wood surfaces like siding, fences, and trim—on new or pre‑stained wood—but not decks or stairs.

Apply as a first coat on bare exterior hardwood or cedar to prep and stabilize for topcoats.

Offered in 16 colors, available in 8 oz samples, quarts, gallons, and five‑gallon pails.

Hydro‑Oil Primer is sold in quarts, gallons, and five‑gallon sizes.

Both products cover approximately 300–400 sq ft per gallon, depending on wood porosity.

Ligno offers smooth flow and uniform color; Hydro‑Oil Primer dries in 12–48 hours and fully cures in about a week.

Use brush, roller, spray, or paint pad. Always stir well and maintain a wet edge; back‑brush if rolling.

Apply when temperatures are between 45–80 °F and humidity is 40–60%. Avoid application if rain is expected within 24 hours.

Clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Sand previously stained wood lightly. For Ligno, optionally pretreat with Suncare 900 or Hydro‑Oil Primer.

Cleanup is easy using soap and water; no harsh solvents required.

Both Ligno and Hydro‑Oil Primer remain viable up to 12 months when stored unopened in proper conditions.

Colors vary by wood type and absorption; testing ensures color accuracy and satisfaction.

Yes—Ligno delivers UV protection, while Hydro‑Oil Primer enhances topcoat performance for long-term durability.

For Ligno—apply two coats; second coat can be applied 4–6 hours after first. For Hydro‑Oil Primer—one coat is typical, followed by topcoat after primer cure.

Hydro‑Oil Primer should not be frozen.

No—neither product is suitable for submerged, buried, or subterranean applications.

Ligno’s deep penetration maintains wood resilience against weather, while Hydro‑Oil Primer stabilizes and prepares wood for superior topcoat performance.
