One of the advantages of wool insulation is that it moderates moisture better than conventional insulation materials like fiberglass and cellulose.   4. We are interested your sheep wool insulation. What method bonding the wool fiber in the insulation?

    1. Polyester is used as a binder to provide the rigidity required to keep the insulation in place once it is installed. Without the binder over time the insulation may settle or compact as it absorbs and expels moisture. The UK did a lot of product testing during development to get the best performance with the least amount of binder.

      This wool insulation is made with three ingredients: sheep’s wool, Borax (a salt based solution), and polyester. The Borax is sprayed on for pest resistance.
